'Shiver Me Timbers'

This term, your child’s class topic is ‘Shiver Me Timbers’. This exciting, cross-curricular topic takes children on an adventure across the high seas as they explore the fascinating world of pirates, ships, oceans and exploration. Through a range of engaging activities, children will develop their understanding of history, geography, science and literacy, while learning about famous pirates, life at sea, navigation, maps and the oceans of our world.

On our topic immersion day (Pirate Adventure Day), children will take part in a range of exciting pirate-themed activities and suggest ‘I wonder...’ questions, which will act as pupil-influenced focuses and help shape the direction of our class topic. All aboard – an exciting term of adventure, discovery and learning awaits!
